artist statement:

The world is hard, and it keeps getting harder. Utilizing art is my way of coping with these feelings, as a way to vent or express my emotions. My work is an embodiment of this. I created this piece when I was feeling lost and pressured by the world; in a moment so dark and lonely, I let these emotions fill the paper. Utilizing thicker paints to add to my self-portrait and photo transfer that fit was in the corner of the canvas, I just created. I wanted my work to look like I had purposely put no effort into it; creating this effect, it simulates the idea of letting myself go.
