In order to properly brand and create an identity for this show, I created posters, t-shirts, programs, and social media posts that the organization could use.
There are two establishing key elements that are continuous throughout this branding, making it cohesive and continuous: the red faded wallpaper and the gold frames which hold various images. The inspiration for these additions comes from the original The Addams Family playbill, which features a cartoon drawing of the Addams Family with a gold frame and red background.
In order to grow its social presence, I designed 20 “Get to Know the Cast” posts that the organization could post on its Instagram and Facebook accounts. These posts contained a headshot of the cast member, their year at Merrimack, past experience, and a ‘fun fact’ which connected the audience to the cast member.
For the program, I found the Upper East Side typeface that the original Broadway production used on their Playbill. I used the typeface throughout the program, but utilized size and color to create a working hierarchy.
To add personality to the poster and program, I had a photoshoot with the Addams cast in their costumes. For the poster, I took single shots of each Addams character and juxtaposed them together into a single image to re-create the original Playbill cover. For the program, I took group shots of the Addams folks and placed them throughout within gold frames.
