progression of my summer

artist statement:

For this piece, I wanted to create something with both photo transfer and acrylic paint that represented the journey of my self-progression. The big idea behind this project was to represent how much I, as a person have changed and the thing that got me to where I am today. I wanted to show how In the absence of other people's influence and opinions I discovered a deeper understanding of myself and my likes and dislikes rather than trying to appease, agree or fit in with the likes and dislikes of those around me. I wanted to show how these newfound interests and awareness have brought me newfound happiness and confidence.
